Coron Palawan must-see tourists spots

Kayangan Lake
Mt. Tapyas
Malcapuya Island

Must see tourist spots

There are lot of beautiful sites and beaches in Coron. But your stay will depends on your chosen stay/flight and budget. At a minimum, you have to stay for three days, just to visit the town and one island hopping tour (though 2 days is also possible, just get the Cebu Pacific flight then an island hopping tour and on 2nd day, Coron town tour/departure from Coron to destination in the afternoon, a tiring compressed tour).

Coron Town

For cheaper option is a DIY Coron town tour, which usually includes Mt. Tapyas, Baywalk, Pasalubong Center, Cashew Nuts Producer and Makinit Hot Spring. I did not went to Makinit Hot Spring (so no comment on this) but have included San Agustin Church. Aside from the church, the only exceptional is I think Mt. Tapyas. It's a 721 steps, wherein at the view deck, you can see the whole town view/see near islands and see mountainous view at the back. For joiner tour, the cheapest town tour cost Php550/pax inclusive of all entrance fees and light snacks.

Mt. Tapyas back view

For Catholics, you might also want to pray and or attend a Holy Eucharist at San Agustin Church.

A few steps from the Church, is a one of town famous restaurants, Lolo Nonoys. During my 4 days stay, I eat dinner in the following affordable restaurants.

Lolo Nonoys Food Station
Kawayanan Grill
Big Mamas

Island hopping tours

Malcapuya Island

Since it was my first solo travel, I was lucky to find the cheapest joiners tours in Coron. I made an advanced booking to Corongaleri online for Coron Island Ultimate tour and Culion Island. But since there was no scheduled Culion tour, I availed the Malcapuya Island instead.

Corongaleri joiner rate to Malcapuya Island is at Php950/pax. If you want to add Banana Island and Bulog Island, just add additional Php250/pax for the entrance fee. You may contact them at 0917 552 6766.

The travel time to Malcapuya Island may take you about 2 hours from Coron wharf. But after landing Malcapuya Island, I must say it's the best white sand beach I've been so far (as of September 2, 2015). Staying in a peaceful island, relax and enjoy the beauty that only Malcapuya Island has to offer. Here is the video of the Malcapuya Island. While you can see below the  images I've capture from the Island itself.

Coron Island ultimate tour

The island hopping tour in Coron is just like El Nido tour for me. Coron island ultimate tour usually includes six different islands where you can swim/snorkel but for me the most beautiful sites among the six we've been is CYC island and the famous Kayangan Lake.
